Interpersonal Communication Training
The aim of this course is to identify the factors behind failure and success in effective interpersonal communication.
COURSE PROGRAMME
• Are statements always true? Presentation of the basic principles of interpersonal communication and introduction to the fundamental concepts.
• Defining interpersonal communication: Understanding interpersonal communication, what is at stake and its different forms (verbal, non-verbal, paraverbal).
• The principles of interpersonal communication: Exploring the key principles underpinning effective communication (active listening, empathy, clarity of message).
• How do we communicate? Analysis of the building blocks of successful communication: sender, receiver, message, channel, context.
• The communication model: Explanation of the various communication models and how to use them to better understand the process.
• Barriers to effective interpersonal communication: Identifying the barriers to communication (noise, misunderstandings, preconceptions) and how to avoid them.
• Success factors in effective interpersonal communication: Studying the levers of success in interpersonal communication: active listening techniques, adapting to the context and to the other person, managing emotions and attitude.
