Joining a new environment is never straightforward for an operator. As pharmaceutical production is highly regulated and structured, operators need to be comfortable with all these principles so that on-the-job training can be more effective.
The aim of this course is to give packaging line operators an understanding of their working environment.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES
> Organise, start up and close down production:
- Setting and control points, preliminary checks (products and equipment), safety rules.
- Activities during production: supply of components, monitoring, controls
- The production balance: reconciliation and yield
- Performing and checking line / chain clearance
- Production changeovers (format, presentation, batch)

> Make the link between equipment operation, the product and the process
- Primary and secondary packaging equipment (operation, safety and quality risk)
- Packaging components and the associated controls
- Product and packaging component flows
- Serialisation and aggregation

> Identify the quality issues associated with packaging
- Quality risks associated with packaging (cross-contamination, coding errors, etc.)
- Traceability of production operations: completion of the batch record and the logbook
- Controls (in-process, IPC) and deviation management
- Production incidents: action to be taken, documents to be completed (deviation form, logbook, etc.)
- Sampling
