Steam quality control (PQ/VAP) in accordance with EN 285
The EN 285 standard applies to process equipment using steam for sterilization purposes. It requires manual tests to be carried out to verify the quality of your steam: the PQ/VAP control.
This control — which STERIGENE recommends carrying out annually — enables compliance with the standard's criteria, as well as follow-up monitoring in the event of non-conformities during Performance Qualification (PQ), and the production of detailed reports during audits.
STERIGENE makes available its expertise, together with qualified technicians and the necessary equipment, to carry out the following tests:

We also offer the purchase or rental of a steam quality control device. The ARMSTRONG STEAM QM-3 is the only patented equipment for its capacity to control saturated steam in accordance with international standards. It is an automated, reliable and portable device (simple plug-and-play installation) that enables continuous, reliable and reproducible testing (accuracy ±1%).
Rouging treatment
Rouging is characterised by a discolouration of the stainless steel surfaces of parts and components in process equipment used in pure steam and ultra-pure water distribution networks.
This formation of a more or less tenacious iron oxide layer must be eliminated to prevent oxidation of the stainless steel and, in the most extreme cases, contamination of the pure fluids and therefore of the batches in production.
STERIGENE offers both corrective and preventive de-rouging interventions to clean the components of process equipment in pure fluid networks.
