Eric LEVACHER
Technical Director, IMT Group
Interview conducted by Laurent MEILHAUD, Manual Inspection Export Manager at STERIGENE, on 2 May 2022
Who are you? Tell us a little about your organisation.
With over 40 years of experience, the IMT Group is the French leader in industrial skills training for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, cosmetics and dietary supplement sectors.
Operating across 8 sites in France, we have developed pilot-scale industrial training facilities that replicate production processes, workflows, and the quality and safety requirements of the industry (GMP principles, HSE, Lean…).
Each year, 5,000 people are trained within the IMT Group through apprenticeship contracts, professional development contracts, higher education and continuing training programmes.
The IMT Group also provides workforce and skills planning (GPEC) consulting services, practice and resource-sharing environments (seminars, workshops…), pharmaceutical development support services, and even a publishing company.
How did you first come across STERIGENE?
I have known STERIGENE for over 20 years! Originally through an industrial project involving a Stilmas installation, if I recall correctly. The IMT Group prides itself on being at the heart of industrial challenges, and on maintaining equipment, expertise and a discourse that are aligned with the reality of production sites. We therefore maintain close contact with players in the sector (equipment manufacturers, suppliers, etc.). We are in fact already equipped with some of your solutions (Fedegari, Officine Bano, Optrel).
What were your visual inspection requirements?
Here again, our need and our ambition are to remain aligned with industrial reality. We have both semi-automatic and manual inspection equipment for our initial training activities and to support our clients (on-the-job training, inspection recipe management…).
Why did you choose the STERIGENE inspection table?
There are several reasons. The relevance of the product, its representativeness among industrial users, and the value of a mutually beneficial relationship with STERIGENE. We share common interests, all in the service of our clients.
How did STERIGENE meet your expectations, and what are the main product advantages for you?
We have long shared this mutually beneficial relationship. The implementation of the STERIGENE manual inspection table is a natural extension of this dynamic.
The equipment meets Pharmacopoeia standards, it is ergonomic thanks to its adjustable legs and light intensity adjustment system. It is also mobile, which is important for our training activities. We are able to operate in our workshops under "pharma" conditions, in classroom settings, and even to move certain pieces of equipment to our clients' premises.
Many thanks to Eric for this exchange and for the trust he has placed in STERIGENE.
