Wet Granulation Training on LAF & High Shear Granulators

On completion of this course, participants will be able to understand the basic principles of wet granulation and its importance in the pharmaceutical industry. They will be able to identify the specific features of the equipment presented and to
optimise settings and operating conditions in order to improve process yield and reproducibility. They will master the critical parameters of wet granulation in order to guarantee granule quality and will be able to apply good manufacturing practice and the quality controls associated with granulation.

TRAINING PROGRAMME
> Introduction to wet granulation: Definition and objectives / Importance in tablet formulation
> Presentation of the equipment: Fluid bed granulator (LAF): operating principle, advantages and disadvantages / High Shear granulator: operating principle, advantages and
disadvantages / Comparison of the technologies
> Critical process parameters: Influence of particle size, moisture content and granulation time / Optimisation of the parameters for each technology (LAF vs High Shear)
> Practical case studies: Analysis of the potential causes of failure and corrective actions / Process adjustments to improve finished product quality
> Quality control and validation: Granule characterisation methods: size, density, uniformity / Validation process and compliance with quality standards and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)
> Assessment: Multiple-choice test and practical exercises at the end of the course to validate learning / Training certificate issued to participants
